Thank you very much for purchasing the MIXA Image Library CD-ROM. For your convenience we enclose a copy of the Kudo Image Browser (runtime version) to facilitate image retrieval. However, since this image browser is provided only as a bonus utility, we take no responsibility for answering questions regarding its operation or limitations, and further request that you refrain from contacting its developer or dealers with such queries.
Installation
Since the image browser is a runtime version, you do not have to install it in your computer to use it. However, if you have sufficient space, you may of course also copy it onto your hard disk.
Limitations
This image browser does not fully support JPEG data format which causes the following anomalies when using it to view this library's JPEG format image data.
Ñ The height and width of images shown in the Information window differ from their actual sizes.
Ñ For previewing, the browser will only display thumbnail images.
These limitations arise from the fact that this particular browser was not originally designed for use with JPEG data.
Operation
The image browser's basic operations are similar to those of any other standard Macintosh application.
Startup procedure
Start up the image browser by double-clicking its icon in the View folder.
Functions
This image browser features the following functions which can all be accessed with buttons in the application's main window.
Thumbnail display format
The three View buttons in the upper left corner are used to select display formats for thumbnail images. The "Small Gallery View" button on the left displays as many thumbnails as possible by reducing each to a quarter of its normal size. The "Gallery View" button in the center displays the thumbnails in their normal size with icons indicating their file name and type. The "List View" button on the right shows each thumbnail with its detailed information.
Find
This standard search function helps you locate a desired image by specifying search criteria in the dialogue box which opens when you click on the "Find" button.
Info
Clicking on the "Info" button displays information on the currently selected image.
File Information
The icon in the bottom right corner of a thumbnail indicates the image's file format. If Photoshop is installed in your system, double-clicking this icon will start it up and display the image for editing .
Riffle control
By pointing the cursor at either of the arrow marks in the screen's bottom right corner and holding down the mouse button, you can flip through all the thumbnail images, one by one, like pages. The further you hold the cursor from the arrow mark's center the faster the flipping speed.
